这是一篇鱼汤文——或者说，鸡血文，节选自《三国演义》。官渡之战前，曹操原本对备战袁绍信心不足。这时，首席谋士郭嘉剖析双方好坏态势，鼓舞了曹操的斗志。

这个语篇翻译的难点，在于各类中国文化中的特有具象性的名词，例如“道”“义”“德”“仁”等等。按说，这种的翻译原本是无解的，由于没有完全对应的英语词对应它们。

并且有个突破口网校头条，那些具象词常常是具有多义的，而实际语篇使用中，常常视上下文注重其某一二意义。

诸如“德”这个字，含意不要太广了，用在不同上下文中，起码有道德、规范、品行、善行、恩惠、情意、事物属性、功能等许多种意义。而在此语篇中，“以德胜”凭的是“德行”。古汉语中，君王、领袖们的“德行”其实是她们令天下归心或则吸引人才来投靠的“属性”，而不是一般意义上的“道德品行”能概况的。其实，古代说那个王朝该玩完了，就说它的“德”要尽了。这或许有些唬人，甚至有些事后诸葛。本译文的理解，将“德”的要素提炼下来——对士人的恩德（favour）以及其作为领袖的美德品质（virtue）。

再如，“义”，文中讲的可不是“义气”，而是“义者，宜也”的“义”（justification）。

再如，“文”（“以文胜”），不是舞文弄墨的文，而是“文治”、治理能力、治理风格、治理文化（governanceculture）。

今绍有十败，公有十胜，绍兵虽盛，不足惧也：
